Have a garden plan? Send it with photographs of the areas you want to use after dark. A sketch is useful too. Tell us about paths, steps, seating, planting and any existing lighting.
No plan? Your full property address lets us use available Google satellite views to understand the garden outline and nearby habitats. Photographs and a few measurements help fill the gaps; satellite imagery cannot replace a measured survey.
Share your budget, timescale and any ecological report or local lighting requirements. We can work with you, your garden designer or your contractor.

Chris Hudson teaches garden lighting at the London College of Garden Design. Our team brings experience from lighting gardens at multiple RHS Chelsea Flower Shows, including the Bat Conservation Trust’s Nocturnal Garden and Parkinson’s UK’s A Garden for Every Parkinson’s Journey in 2026.
That experience informs practical decisions in your own garden: where light helps, where glare gets in the way and where darkness should remain.

We start with the places you actually need to see. Our approach is to keep light carefully directed, limit spill into surrounding habitat and use controls so lighting is only on when needed. Tell us about water, trees, nesting areas or wildlife routes around your property.
Watch Chris explain the choices behind a more considered lighting scheme. Different habitats need different approaches; one light color is not a universal answer.
For coastal gardens, the view from the beach matters as much as the view from the patio. Florida’s wildlife agency recommends low mounting and output, appropriate long-wavelength light, and shielding so lamps and glowing lenses are hidden from the beach.
We consider fixture choice, positioning and surrounding habitat together. An amber appearance alone does not establish compliance. Share any local requirements or ecological advice so these can inform the design.
